AccessAbility Training
1. Purpose
At AccessAbility Training, we are committed to creating inclusive, respectful, and safe environments for all. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from anyone representing, working with, or participating in our training sessions and services – including staff, trainers, learners, clients, and partners.
It supports our mission to deliver high-quality, accessible, and neuroinclusive training for all.
2. Who This Applies To
This Code of Conduct applies to:

Staff and freelance trainers

Learners and participants
-
Employers, clients, and commissioning bodies
-
Contractors, volunteers, and visitors
It covers all engagement with AccessAbility Training, including in-person events, online training, communications, and digital platforms.
3. Our Core Values
We expect everyone involved with AccessAbility Training to:

Treat others with dignity, kindness, and respect

Embrace diversity and promote inclusion

Communicate honestly and clearly

Be accountable for their actions

Challenge discrimination, harassment, or exclusion

Work together to create a welcoming and accessible environment
4. Expected Behaviour
Whether online or in person, we ask that everyone:

Respects individual differences – including those related to neurodiversity, disability, culture, identity, and experience

Uses inclusive, non-discriminatory language

Listens actively and allows others to speak without interruption

Arrives on time and is prepared to participate fully (where applicable)

Maintains confidentiality and respects privacy
-
Provides constructive feedback in a kind and respectful way

Seeks support or clarification if unsure about expectations
5. Unacceptable Behaviour
We will not tolerate:

Harassment, bullying, or intimidation

Discrimination based on disability, neurodiversity, race, gender, age, religion, sexuality, or any other protected characteristic

Aggressive or inappropriate language or gestures
-
Dismissive behaviour or microaggressions
-
Sharing confidential information without permission
-
Misuse of digital platforms, including spamming, trolling, or excluding others
6. Digital and Online Behaviour
When participating in virtual training or communication, we ask that you:

Keep your camera on where possible (unless you need it off – that's fine too!)

Mute your microphone when not speaking
-
Use respectful language in chat messages
-
Avoid distractions and remain present in the session
-
Respect the digital access needs of others (e.g., allowing pauses, using captions)
7. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this Code of Conduct, please report it as soon as possible. You can speak to your trainer, a member of staff, or contact us directly:

All concerns will be taken seriously and handled with sensitivity and confidentiality, in line with our Complaints and Feedback Policy.
8. Consequences of Breach
If someone breaches this Code of Conduct, we may:

Provide informal guidance or a reminder of expectations

Issue a formal warning

Remove the person from a session or training programme
-
End a contract or working relationship (in serious or repeated cases)

Refer the matter to an external body where necessary
We will always aim to respond fairly, proportionately, and with a restorative approach where possible.
9. Commitment to Continuous Learning
We understand that inclusion is a journey, and we are all learning. We will provide opportunities for staff, trainers, and participants to reflect, grow, and improve their inclusive practice.
10. Review
This Code of Conduct will be reviewed annually, or earlier if required.
